Paul Aliprando, Formerly Of MHIA, SUN Automation, Dies At 66 In MD

Corrugated industry veteran Paul Joseph Aliprando, formerly of MHIA and SUN Automation Group, passed away at the age of 66, in Baltimore, MD on August 31, 2023.

Born in Brooklyn, New York on December 31, 1956, to Tullio Joseph Aliprando and Helen Ann Aliprando, Paul was raised in a strong, traditional Italian family, including a strong Catholic faith and seven-course holiday meals that lasted hours. He graduated from Fordham Prep in New York City, and then attended the Rochester Institute of Technology.

He was well respected as a Sales Engineer, with nearly his entire career centered on and around the corrugated paper industry. He was passionate about the industry, often made presentations at national conferences, and traveled all over the world for his work. He truly loved his long lasting business friends he had made over the years.

Paul was also patriotic and civic minded, having served as Asst. Scout Master for Troop 874, Ellicott City, served on the Home Owners Association board nearly 30 years, and he also ran for the Board of Education. He placed 14th in the election results, in a field of 14 – which made him laugh. He was known for his never-ending quick wit, one liners, Dad jokes and his hilarious physical comedy – like running around as the Nutty Professor.

He was a fantastic father, grandfather and husband, loving son and brother. He is survived by his adoring wife Carol, his loving children Maria Christine (husband Press Palmer), Mark Logan and John Tullio, his cherished grandchild Scarlett Victoria, his mother Helen, his sisters and brothers, Barbara and Bob Kennedy, Joseph and Lisa Aliprando, William Aliprando and Leslie Klienfelter, Aida and Tom Stephens. He was predeceased by his son Jake.
