Richard “Dick” William Graham, 90, of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, formerly of Gladwyne, passed away peacefully at Beaumont Retirement Community on March 24 surrounded by his loving family. He was the oldest son of Agnes and Grant Rowe Graham and was predeceased by his brother, Alexander (Sandy) John Graham and sister, Marilyn Graham Abbady. Dick attended the Haverford School, Lafayette College and The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Finance.

He began his career as Controller of the Philadelphia Papermill, Manayunk, of Container Corporation of America (CCA), a global paper and packaging company, headquartered in Chicago. CCA, which established the Aspen Institute, was acquired by Mobil Oil and later sold to Jefferson Smurfit. Dick’s career spanned 40+ years with the company, moving from Philadelphia to Chicago to St. Louis, ultimately ascending to Chief Executive Officer. The company is now known as Smurfit Westrock. Dick will be remembered as a revered business leader who had a competitive spirit and for his dedicated service to the Haverford School.
