Bähren Pharma Packaging Installs MPS Flexo Press

Bähren Pharma Packaging, a specialist in pharmaceutical secondary packaging based in Germany, has installed its first MPS flexographic press.

Founded as a family business and now in its third generation, Bähren annually produces more than 1.5 billion secondary packaging products, including package inserts, combination products and self-adhesive labels. In January 2025, the company became part of the Körber Group under Körber Pharma Packaging.

Until recently, Bähren operated exclusively with offset and digital printing technologies. With the new MPS EFA press, the company is embracing roll-fed flexographic printing for the first time.

The press was delivered with an advanced configuration tailored to meet the stringent demands of pharmaceutical label production.

Among the press’s key advantages are its multi-layer printing capabilities, intuitive operation, and efficient drying processes. The technology also allows for on-the-fly changes by enabling make-ready or teardown of unused print units during production.

Sustainability has long been a core value for Bähren, and this investment supports that commitment. The press features energy-saving UV-LED drying and operates on renewable electricity.
