AICC, The Independent Packaging Association, is highlighting two key opportunities at the Spring Meeting set for April 30-May 2, at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort in Bonita Springs, Florida. The Sales Management Forum and the Women in Packaging Group offer valuable educational and networking experiences for industry professionals looking to enhance their skills and expand their connections.
Sales Management Forum: A Data-Driven Approach to Sales Success—Featuring industry experts Trent Halasek, Sales Manager at Akers Packaging Service Group, and Todd Zielinski, Managing Director/CEO of Athena SWC, the Sales Management Forum will equip attendees with a mathematical approach to sales goal-setting and performance.
Trent started his career in the corrugated industry after graduating college form the University of Kentucky. Unlike many AICC members, Trent had no prior connections or family members in the industry. Trent started his career in accounting, but management and leadership roles were his true calling. Fast forward several years, at 30 years of age, Trent became the General Manager of a sheet plant in Louisville, Kentucky before taking his current role as Sales Manager for one of the most advanced, well run, full-line box plants in the country with Akers Packaging of Middletown, Ohio.
Todd is one of the co-founders of Athena and was instrumental in the development of Athena’s outsourced business model. He has more than 20+ years of experience with hands-on sales, lead generation and management, tactical marketing, return on investment models, marketing, and management. He is currently responsible for the strategic direction, profit and loss, marketing, sales, and general management of Athena. He has successfully implemented Athena’s outsourced marketing processes in various business-to-business complex sales environments, including corrugated, folding cartons and ridged boxes. Since Athena’s inception in 2007, Todd has successfully increased year-to-year revenue growth for Athena’s outsourced sales and marketing services division, as well as expanded this line of business across the US manufacturing marketplace.
Todd holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from D’Youville College and is a graduate of the Buffalo Chapter of the Harvard Business School’s Executive Management Program.
Participants will gain insights into:
Breaking down the sales process using marketing math
Analyzing conversion rates for better forecasting
Structuring a predictable pathway to sales success
The forum will also explore “The Money Skills,” an in-depth look at the financial nuances of industry-specific sales management. This session will help sales leaders develop a more strategic, data-driven approach to achieving their revenue goals.
Women in Packaging: Fostering Connection & Empowerment—AICC’s Women in Packaging Group continues to build a strong community dedicated to supporting and uniting women in the packaging industry. Two key events at the Spring Meeting include:
Women in Packaging Golf Clinic, Wednesday, April 30, is a fun and relaxed way for women in the industry to connect while improving their golf skills.
Women in Packaging Breakfast, Wednesday, April 30, is a welcoming gathering that fosters networking, mentorship, and industry discussions in a supportive environment.
