Nu-Maber, a flexographic plate producer in Treviso, Italy, has installed two ThermoFlexX Catena-E 80 exposure units from XSYS.
With a maximum plate size of 50 x 80 inches and advanced LED technology for both main and back exposures, these units provide precision imaging and robust performance, according to the company.
Incorporating XSYS’s ProServX software, the new equipment ensures integration with Nu-Maber’s digital infrastructure. ProServX supports Industry 4.0 compliance with features such as real-time monitoring, predictive maintenance, and remote diagnostics.
Customers like Nu-Maber can leverage the system’s REST API to connect directly with their MIS (Management Information Systems) or ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems.
In otherr news, XSYS has introduced EcoFillX, a software feature developed for ThermoFlexX imagers, which is said to reduce washout solvent usage.
As a new add-on feature within MultiPlate software for ThermoFlexX imagers, EcoFillX incorporates imageable structures into the non-printing areas of the flexographic plate. Through intelligent image analysis, EcoFillX is said to populate those areas in the LAMS layer with the designated pattern, leveraging the ThermoFlexX optics to expedite imaging.
During recent tests at a customer site, EcoFillX is said to have demonstrated a 30 percent reduction in weekly solvent usage.
